LED Light Bulbs | Durable. Efficient. Safe.
C hoosing the right outdoor lighting design for your home can be tricky, but at least keep the light bulbs simple. LED outdoor lights are your only choice. Why? Well, there are tons of reasons LEDs are best but I’ll focus on the top three. Even if you’re skeptical and love your incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent lights, you’ll be changing your light bulbs after this read.
What Are LEDs?
Before we get into why LEDs are best, let’s understand them. Light-Emitting Diode or LED emits light when electricity passes through instead of heating a filament. The electrical illuminating process allows us to enjoy long-lasting bulbs, save money, and safely illuminate our homes.
LEDs Last Longer!
You won’t be switching light bulbs as often with LEDs. In fact, you might forget how! LEDs can last up to 50,000 hours while withstanding outdoor elements. Can your halogen do that? Nope. Plus, would you really want to change light bulbs outside, anyways? Negative.
LEDs Save Money!
Yes, my friend! Your electrical bill will prove it. Now, you may be thinking, “LEDs are expensive
compared to incandescent and halogen bulbs.” You’re right. Usually, LEDs cost more at the store but you’ll see your money again after installation! LEDs are highly efficient because they use at least 75% LESS energy than traditional lighting. That’s a huge chunk off your electrical bill! Wow. Did I just win you over? Almost? Well, I got one more reason you should consider.
LEDs Are Safest!
You probably never thought of light bulbs to be dangerous. However, you should. Regular light bulbs produce light with heating a filament, like I mentioned earlier. Some bulbs can convert up to 90% of their energy to heat. You wouldn’t want to touch that light bulb or allow something flammable like dry leaves or shrubs to either. By contrary, LEDs release very little to no heat – making them safer.
